1963 Holden EJ Premier

The first of the classic 1960s Holdens was the EJ, introduced in July 1962 with completely new bodywork that was both substantially lower and wider than previous models and managed to look far more modern. Inside, the EJ offered more passenger space but mechanically remained much as before, retaining the trusty ‘grey’ motor with a choice of either a three-speed manual or Hydra-matic automatic transmission. The electrical system was upgraded with a thermal circuit breaker. New twin-servo brakes were a useful new safety feature, along with safety belt mounts for the first time, rubber padding on the fascia and stronger front suspension. Other useful features of the EJ included a spare wheel mounted under the floor of the boot to improve luggage capacity and a larger glovebox – little things perhaps, but they made the Holden much more practical. Expanding the model range, Holden developed a more luxurious model named the Premier that boasted items like a white steering wheel and console buttons, four-door armrests, chromed wheel trim and bonnet ornament, gold/red badges on the boot lid and front guards and whitewall tyres.

This 1963 EJ Premier is showing 62595 miles, is automatic and has bucket seats.
